Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez Celebrates Literacy and Family Engagement at Coral Gables Family Literacy Festival
Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez joined families, educators, and community leaders at the Fifth Annual Gables Family Literacy Festival, celebrating the importance of reading, education, and family engagement in the lives of Miami-Dade residents.
The event brought together children and parents from across the community for a day focused on literacy, learning, and access to educational resources. Families participated in interactive activities, book-centered programs, and opportunities designed to encourage a lifelong love of reading among young students.
“It was inspiring to see so many children excited about books, learning, and education,” said Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez. “Events like this help create opportunities for young people to grow, learn, and build a strong foundation for the future.”
Fernandez also highlighted the participation of the Tax Collector’s Office T-Connect team, which was on-site helping residents connect with important county services and resources. The initiative reflects the office’s continued commitment to making government services more accessible while engaging directly with communities throughout Miami-Dade County.
As Miami-Dade County Tax Collector, Fernandez emphasized the importance of supporting programs that invest in children and strengthen families. He noted that literacy initiatives play a vital role in expanding opportunities and encouraging academic success for future generations.
Fernandez thanked the City of Coral Gables, educators, volunteers, city staff, and community partners who helped make the event possible and continue promoting the value of education and literacy throughout the community.
The festival served as a reminder that strong communities are built through education, involvement, and opportunities that empower young minds and support families across Miami-Dade County.
