State Labor Commission Ends Union Certification at Miami-Dade Tax Collector’s Office
The Florida Public Employees Relations Commission (PERC), the state labor commission, has issued a final order ending the union certification for a group of supervisory employees at the Miami-Dade County Tax Collector’s Office.
The union, Government Supervisors Association of Florida/Office and Professional Employees International Union, Local 100, requested to withdraw from representing this supervisory unit, and PERC granted that request.
“This speaks for itself,” said Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez. “The union asked to withdraw from representing this supervisory unit, and the state granted that request. Our office is operating with professionalism, accountability, and a clear mission. We are focused on delivering results and supporting our employees as we continue improving service for the people of Miami-Dade County.”
Since taking office, Fernandez has focused on making the Tax Collector’s Office faster, more accessible, and more accountable to residents. The office has expanded service locations, launched mobile services, improved appointment and queue systems, and identified efficiencies across operations.
“The team is the most important part of this office and this community,” Fernandez added. “I will always stand behind the employees who show up every day and work hard for the residents of Miami-Dade County. I have their back, and I will continue to be the strongest defender of our team. When employees are supported and empowered to lead, residents receive better service, and that is exactly the culture we are building together.”
The Miami-Dade County Tax Collector’s Office will continue its work to improve service, strengthen accountability, and deliver results for residents across all office locations.
