Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Hosts Successful Back-to-School Giveaway at Midway Crossings Office

Miami, FL – July  19, 2025 — The Office of the Miami-Dade County Tax Collector kicked off the new school year with a successful Back-to-School initiative, bringing together community partners and families for a day of service, support, and smiles.

In collaboration with Miami-Dade County School Board Member Danny Espino, the Tax Collector’s Office distributed over 500 backpacks filled with school supplies to children and families who visited the Midway Crossings Tax Collector Office. The event provided critical resources to help students start the school year prepared and confident.

“Thank you to our incredible team for making our Back to School event such a meaningful success,” said Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez. “Everything was beautifully organized—from the school supply giveaways to the smiles on the faces of the families we served. Your dedication and heart made the difference.”

Tax Collector Fernandez extended a special thanks to School Board Member Danny Espino for his strong partnership and commitment to student success. “As Miami-Dade County Tax Collector, I am proud to work alongside people who truly care about our community,” Fernandez added. “To all the families who joined us: thank you for the trust you place in us. We are here to serve you, support you, and build a better future together.”

This marks the first of what will become an annual tradition as part of the Office’s broader effort to engage with and support the local community beyond government services.
