Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez Visits Miami Air Traffic Control Tower, Recognizes Aviation Professionals
Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez visited the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Miami Air Traffic Control Tower at Miami International Airport to gain a firsthand look at the extraordinary coordination, precision, and professionalism required to safely manage one of the busiest aviation hubs in the world.
During the visit, Fernandez met with aviation professionals responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient movement of thousands of flights each year, learning more about the critical role the Miami Air Traffic Control (Miami ATC) team plays in protecting millions of travelers and supporting the nation's aviation system.
"Our air traffic controllers and aviation professionals are among the unsung heroes of public service," said Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez. "Every day, they make thousands of decisions with remarkable precision to keep our skies safe. Their commitment, professionalism, and dedication deserve our gratitude and recognition."
Fernandez expressed his appreciation to Ralph Cutié, Director and Chief Executive Officer of Miami International Airport, Tony Quintero, and the entire Miami International Airport team for their warm welcome and for providing the opportunity to better understand the airport's operations.
He also thanked the dedicated men and women of the Federal Aviation Administration, including the Miami Air Traffic Control team, engineers, technicians, and support personnel, whose expertise and commitment keep one of the nation's busiest airports operating safely and efficiently around the clock.
