Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez joined city leaders and residents this week for the grand opening and leash-cutting ceremony of Chewy Bark Park, a new dog park located along The Underline in Coral Gables. The event celebrated the addition of a new community space designed to promote recreation, connection, and everyday neighborhood life.

Families and pet owners gathered to enjoy the newly opened park, which offers a welcoming and accessible environment where residents can spend time outdoors with their dogs while engaging with the broader community. The project represents a meaningful investment in public spaces that enhance quality of life and encourage active, community-centered living.

Fernandez thanked Coral Gables Mayor Vince Lago, the City Commissioners, and City employees whose dedication and work made the project possible. He also recognized Chewy and The Underline for their partnership in bringing the park to life and contributing another valuable community asset to the city.

“Projects like this remind us why investing in our neighborhoods matters,” Fernandez said. “They bring people together, create shared experiences, and strengthen the sense of community that makes our cities thrive.”

The opening of Chewy Bark Park highlights the positive impact of collaboration between local government, private partners, and community organizations. For the Miami-Dade County Tax Collector’s Office, participating in events like this reflects a continued commitment to supporting initiatives that improve daily life for residents and strengthen communities across the county.
