Response from Dariel Fernandez To The Attacks By Bruno Rodríguez, Spokesperson of The Cuban Communist And Socialist Murderous Dictatorship, Against Our Community And Our Enforcement Actions

As Miami Dade County Tax Collector, I will always defend our community from lies, manipulation, and attacks coming from the Cuban communist and socialist murderous dictatorship. 

The recent message from the regime’s spokesperson is no surprise. A dictatorship that has oppressed, persecuted, imprisoned, and impoverished the Cuban people for more than six decades will always blame others and protect its accomplices. 

They talk about “free enterprise,” but in Cuba there is no private property, no economic freedom, no freedom of expression, and no due process. Every so called business is controlled by GAESA, the military, and the regime’s elite, and every dollar ends up financing repression and corruption. 

They ask who is blocking ties between both countries. The answer is clear: the dictatorship that fears free elections, censors the internet, and imprisons artists, journalists, and anyone who demands freedom. 

They ask who maintains a criminal and backward policy. The answer is the same regime that has executed, tortured, jailed, and exiled millions of Cubans. 

They attack the United States, the State of Florida, and Cuban American elected officials because they fear what they cannot control: truth, freedom, and justice. 

Those of us who defend our community, including Cubans, Venezuelans, Nicaraguans, and all who escaped communism, do so because we know the reality of living under a criminal system. 

The dictatorship can speak. Democracy responds with facts. 

And the facts are simple: Miami Dade County will never be a refuge for anyone who finances or protects a regime that is an enemy of the United States and an oppressor of its own people.
