Miami-Dade County, FL – October 8, 2025 – Today, Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez proudly inaugurated the ninth Tax Collector branch office in Miami-Dade County, marking another milestone in his administration’s commitment to expanding local access to essential government services.

“We are happy to bring services to this northwest part of the County and to open this office that will allow residents to pay taxes, get or renew driver licenses, and complete vehicle registrations, all under the same roof,” said Fernandez during the ceremony.

The event featured remarks by Hialeah Gardens Mayor Yioset De La Cruz, who praised the Tax Collector’s leadership and efficiency in transforming services once managed by the State. “It is really remarkable to see how Tax Collector Fernandez has been able to fix all the issues this office faced in the past,” said Mayor De La Cruz. “The long lines and delays that once prevented people from being served adequately are gone. Now it is truly pleasant to walk in and experience how efficiently services are provided.”

The ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the official transition of this branch from State to local management, solidifying Miami-Dade’s ability to provide more responsive, community-focused service delivery. The event was well attended by local officials, community leaders, and residents, all celebrating the continued modernization and expansion of the Tax Collector’s Office.Under Tax Collector Fernandez’s leadership, the Miami-Dade County Tax Collector’s Office has grown from a single downtown location to a network of nine full-service branches, each offering a wide range of services including property tax payments, business tax receipts, driver license renewals, vehicle registrations, and specialty license plates.

The office with a capacity to service 700 people a day is the only Tax Collector location currently serving all residents in the northwest area of Miami-Dade. In the next few weeks, the Tax Collector Office has plans to absorb management of the Driver License Office located in Miami Gardens to continue service expansion to the northern neighborhoods of Miami-Dade County.
